Sustaining Scholarships for Visual & Performing Arts
The Art Guild of Clifton continues to raise funds for our well received and successful scholarship program. In 2018 we awarded four scholarships of $750 each to very talented Fairfax County high school students pursuing undergraduate studies in the arts; painting, dance and music composition. Only with the public's generous donations can we maintain our support for future arts professionals.
This Holiday Season jumps off to a spirited start on Saturday, Dec 1st, as the Quest Singers led by baritone David Troup, perform a vocal concert featuring Broadway, Pops, and Holiday favorites.
At 4:30, 5:30, and 6:60 pm come to the Clifton Primitive Baptist Church, 7200 Main St., Clifton, VA, to hear a lively and diverse collection of music you will know and tap a toe to. No two performances alike.
Tickets not required. Free will donations very much appreciated. There will also be several works of art on sale, with full proceeds intended for the scholarship program. If you are unable to attend our concert, a means for donation is available below.
Clifton is also alive with other holiday events to kick off the season Dec 1st. At 12 pm, Noon, there is a horse parade including riders and mounts competitively adorned with seasonal themes; elves walk along to clean up after them too. From 4 to 7 pm the annual Clifton Holiday Homes Tour exhibits several historic homes and a converted school bus RV not to be missed. The ambiance of a day in Historic Clifton for the holidays, with its fine restaurants too, should not be overlooked.
Homes Tour Ticket information will be on Clifton town website.
