About the Artist
Educated and raised in Austria, Maria Briganti was introduced to a rich historic and artistic culture. In 1960 she moved to the United States, where she married, worked and raised a family. She returned to painting in 1996, and enrolled in art courses taught by various professional artists and instructors and started exhibiting and selling her paintings.
Maria’s paintings have been exhibited in Art Shows in the Northern Virginia area, MD, and throughout the Washington, D.C. area; as well as Galleries in Nevada, the Carolinas’ and Washington State, where she exhibits in shows focused on Miniature Paintings.
Her exhibits include: ArtBeat Gallery, Manassas, VA, Art Guild of Clifton events, Waterford ,VA., Millwood, VA, Green Springs Horticultural Center, Alexandria, VA., and the MFA Circle Gallery in Annapolis, MD,
Her favorite studies, include old masters’ technique, landscapes, and portraiture. Favorite mediums include pastels and oils. She also loves to paint still life and en plein air painting. Currently, Maria is a member of the Art Guild of Clifton, Art Beat Gallery, Prince William Art Society, Manassas Art Guild, and the Plein Air Society.
